Gabbard Accuses Obama Officials of Treason in Russia Collusion Hoax

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard dropped a bombshell on July 18, 2025, releasing declassified documents and calling for the prosecution of former President Barack Obama, former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former DNI James Clapper. Gabbard alleges they orchestrated a “treasonous conspiracy” by fabricating intelligence to fuel the Trump-Russia collusion narrative following Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory. The 114-page report, including emails and memos, claims Obama’s team manipulated data to undermine Trump’s presidency, citing a December 2016 meeting where Obama directed a new assessment contradicting prior intelligence that Russia did not alter the election outcome.

Gabbard’s memo asserts the officials used the discredited Steele dossier to push false claims of Russian interference, damaging U.S.-Russia relations and subverting the American electorate’s will. She has referred the documents to the Justice Department for criminal investigation, emphasizing accountability to protect democratic integrity. The move comes amid Trump’s push to declassify all Crossfire Hurricane files, the FBI’s 2016 Russia probe, which he calls a “hoax.”

Democrats, including Rep. Jim Himes and Sen. Mark Warner, slammed Gabbard’s claims as “baseless” and politically motivated, pointing to a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report confirming Russia’s 2016 election interference. Critics argue Gabbard’s actions distract from Trump’s Epstein-related controversies. Obama, Comey, Brennan, and Clapper have not commented, but the allegations intensify scrutiny on the DOJ, already investigating Brennan and Comey. As Gabbard’s report fuels MAGA fervor, the nation braces for a legal and political firestorm over accountability versus partisan retribution.
