Pam Bondi Threatens Legal Action Against Jasmine Crockett Over Alleged Violent Rhetoric

Attorney General Pam Bondi has escalated her feud with Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), accusing the congresswoman of inciting violence and hinting at potential criminal charges. During a June 2025 Fox News appearance, Bondi demanded Crockett apologize to Tesla shareholders and denounce violence, claiming her remarks during a “Tesla Takedown” rally promoted attacks on Elon Musk. Crockett had said on March 29, her birthday, that she wanted “Elon to be taken down,” which Bondi called a threat to lives, citing vandalism at Tesla dealerships as “domestic terrorism.”

Crockett, a former civil rights attorney, fiercely defended her free speech rights at a House Judiciary hearing, insisting her call for action was nonviolent and aimed at Musk’s influence through peaceful protests. She accused Bondi of misrepresenting her words, stating, “I don’t like Elon Musk, I’m going to say it 50,000 times,” and criticized Trump’s pardons of January 6 rioters. Democrats, including Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, rallied behind Crockett, arguing Bondi’s threats politicize the Justice Department and chill dissent. Critics note Bondi’s aggressive stance aligns with Trump’s push to protect allies like Musk, who has faced backlash for his role in slashing federal programs.

The clash has intensified scrutiny of Bondi’s tenure, with some calling her actions an overreach of authority. As Crockett vows to double down, the controversy underscores deepening tensions over free speech and political accountability in a polarized Congress.
